    Hi,
Using AE 7.0 on a fast PC. Applied track motion to a nested comp, the motion target is a type layer (talk bubble if you will). Ok…so I hit analyze forward, and it does it’s thing just fine. When I’m happy I hit the stop button–and what should happen is the the analize button turns into the “apply” button. But it dosen’t. It just stays on the “analyze” state.

I do this all the time. Any hints as to what’s wrong?

Make sure the comp you are tracking is only as long as your really need. Since AE can’t directly accesss the footage item, it may not release the tracker until it reaches the end of the comp. Also apply a dummy effect (Point expression control) as a target, this often helps. The behavior of the tracker is somewhat inconsistent with this type of stuff – sometimes it works, sometimes it won’t.

Thanks for the tips Mylenium, but it did not work. Then I tried a number of things.

I rendered the pre-comp out to a .mov file and then reimported it and the type layer and tried again. Same results.

I then rebooted and opened a new comp, reimported the movie file and the type layer. Same results. Again what’s happening is that the “analize” button does not turn into the “apply” button. It just stays on the “analyze” state.

Any other ideas? Redo my preferences (how do a do that)? Really got my nickers in a bunch here.

    Thanks in advance.

Figured it out. It’s embarrassing. Think I leave the knickers in a bunch as punishment.
