I would like to have these questions answered as well.

On the Quality Tab, I have adjusted it to Magic Sharp as John Rafrono recommended. But I also see a slider for further sharpness. If you also need to adjust Saturation, which Video FX filter do you recommend using?

Yes. I found out about the BCC Image Restoration Unit after I made the post. I did download the trial and am testing it now. I expect that it will do a good job. I watched John Rofrano’s UpRez video again to make sure that I get the settings correct.

How much of what BCC UpRez does can be created in Vegas Pro using the Smart Upscale?

That was quite an interesting tutorial!
The Vegas Pro layout has come a long way since version 8 ☺

    Solved!

It is not good enough to just click / “highlight” the preferred Rendering Format.
The “check mark” next to the format must also be highlighted.

Just found that Vegasaur can do this.

I rendered the 3 minute project to the MAGIX Intermediary 422 1080p and it produced a 3GB .mov file. I uploaded that to the client as I was at the deadline. The rendered video looked great. But ,much too large of a file.

I then rendered a h.264 mp4 file and it produced a file of 300MB and also looked great.

Before reading your posts today, I was thinking that I should have found a way to convert the mp4 file to a mov.

I am not familiar with how to change the command lines as you described. Is there any way that you could produce a tutorial on that procedure? Or, write a set of step-by-step procedures for me to see how it’s done.

    Thanks,

    Jay

George – thank you for the replay

I need to give them a clean demo video of the project.
    They specified the h.264 .mov

I am assuming that they are MAC users. FCP etc…

So, with all of your expertise, what would you suggest I give them that will be clean and play on their MACs.

I’m not a techie, so most of what you previously said about the output qualities is over my head.

I am in crunch time, having had to rebuild the lost work from yesterday.
