My source media is D1 NTSC 720×486 29.97i 4:3 Apple ProRes HQ 422 10bit captured on Blackmagic Hypershuttle V2 from Betacam Master Tape.

I am trying to render a clip on the V16 timeline back to the MAGIX Intermediate HQ 422 or just 422 – 720×486 29.97i to try and match the source which is interlaced, lower field first.

All property settings, project settings and render settings have failed to render back to match the source. I can render a progressive file.

I have tried playing with the render filters to no affect. I have tried both .9091 and 1.0 square as well.

    Any help will be appreciated.

The problem is that the Magix Intermediate does not support interlaced footage for SD material–as you have discovered. I’d suggest that you try a lossless VFW codec such as Magic YUV. Another lossless option would be UtVideo which is freeware. Although Magic YUV is a commercial codec ($9), they also have an older freeware version. Both would play very well on the Vegas timeline.
