I believe this plugin does the trick but was under the impression R16 had capabilities built into Cinema.
Any further information is appreciated.

Thanks a lot. I think this could work and replace my efforts to use “render layer”. Will donate if it does the trick

Based on everything I know that’s the setup i’d choose by default as well. Though GPU rendering with Octane (for C4D) is enticing.
If lets say dual Titan Black cards significantly helped after effects (or Media Encoder) in more than just ray tracing (which i never use), I’d love to hear about it.

August 21, 2014 at 8:17 pm in reply to: DNxHD Issues in AE 16/32 bit (black lines in highlights)Hmm. I’m mostly on PC and was running into pink highlights.
I thought adding broadcast safe to the premiere timeline would solve it but it didn’t.
glad its kind of resolved.

August 21, 2014 at 7:30 pm in reply to: DNxHD Issues in AE 16/32 bit (black lines in highlights)I had luck switching export settings from Prmeiere to DNxHD “RGB” color vs rec709. This may not be ideal for everyone but it fixed the pink superwhite highlights.

July 29, 2014 at 6:44 pm in reply to: Converting Sculpt to Mesh Creating Abnormal GeometrySo it turned out stripping down my project to save for the forum helped resolve the issue.
SOLVED:
1. duplicate object with sculpt and remove any of the pose morph and extra tags not needed.
2. copy object and paste into new project
3. open scuplt tag and use tools to create mesh
4. DONE!Thanks for helping realize this!

July 29, 2014 at 6:06 pm in reply to: Converting Sculpt to Mesh Creating Abnormal GeometryThanks for the input regarding the Sculpt to Mesh tool.
I’ve got R15 Build RC89143.
This is happening on both my mac and PC systems. I’ve tried copying to a new project, deleting any unneeded tags and then creating the mesh but no luck. I’m wondering if it has something to do with PoseMorph tag and the geometry in the Ref Poses. Thoughts?
All i’m trying to do is bake a normal map for two aged sculpts

Thanks a lot brian. Even though its not officially resolved this confirms what I expected.

Thanks Brian. I’ve got 3 or 4 objs that are similar…low poly objects created what Blender I believe and output to OBJ. I’d remake them but they’re not the based on primitives that Cinema is used to (from what I can tell).
Here’s the original OBJ (needs triangulation and normal tag erased to show properly). It should look like this:

Thanks for getting back to me Cassius.
You’re right about the geometry. I needed to erase the top and bottom caps on the single film plane. As well i also welded the side planes more cleanly so that they weren’t a triangulated mess.
Could you reco any tips on using the physical renderer (given my scene)? I’ve completed tutorials and tested projects but am intimidated as it always increases my times so much that its unusable.
thanks!
