    source is from dvcam or mini dv tape…
    I did not tyr the quick time movie after the corrupt file, but will try it…waht if it does or does not…what is that telling me?
    as far as the drives, I had been editing for about a year with the present data settings on the drives with no glitches…tx Nick…….Jay

    jerry…tried that , and that is when the error message began….using FCP HD and RT is at safe with medium playback..Jay

    Thanks again Ben, But I have HD and not 5, so I don’t have the option you are asking for. I have tried setting ALL Frames on the View menu, etc, and still nothing. Thanks

    Thanks Ben…I cannot find in the log/capture on the middle tab, which is “clip settings” a box with “preview” listed..sound as if that would be it , if the option was available. tx Jay

    As to your other tip, yes the mute is NOT checked

    thanks, but it still does not work properly..the video and audio go out of sync, LINK is off, I tried using Slip and Slide and the book is not forhtcoming in the HOW to do this audio split..any other suggestions? thanks again
