    System…FCP HD on 1.8 dual G5, 1 gig ram
using an external Iomega 250 gig and a Maxtor internal 300gig..

so, a few months ago an editor copied a file to my external and I think it corrupted the time line. She had the dame version of FCP…
so, used Disk Warrior on external and internal..still no luck..trash preferences..no luck….HELP…!
DW did clean up a bit…now I can render files…but still when playing timeline I get a Error Message…sometimes it is Error (39) but mostly “general error”.
Tried reconnect media to maybe replace the corrupt file..still no luck …whew! now what? I don’t want to re-edit my documentary! and yes, I have done a copy and paste onto a new project file…no luck…tx

what is your source file? Does it play back in quick time? is the data rate to high for your drives?

you could try recompressing the source file in media manager?

a bit more info would be nice

source is from dvcam or mini dv tape…
I did not tyr the quick time movie after the corrupt file, but will try it…waht if it does or does not…what is that telling me?
as far as the drives, I had been editing for about a year with the present data settings on the drives with no glitches…tx Nick…….Jay

If The file is corupt then just recapture it.

Go to your log bin then make the file off line (it will ask you if you want to delet media if unsure click leave file on disk, move the media to an other destination) and then recapture using the off line file to give you the correct timecode. (ctl click on the off line file and then select batch capture)

all you clips should automaticly reconect.
