Thanks Noah, I saw the connector in the pictures and the brochure has a chart of compatible Panasonic lenses with the feature, but I have read in reviews that the camera does iris and focus but cannot control zoom. I was hoping an owner can verify this. I’m interested on buying one and I am in Puerto Rico, no where to see one without getting on a plane!

Upss, sorry Shane for not being more specific…. trying to decided a tapeless, output export format – ie quick time file- to be stored and used as “the master Tape” from where it can be converted, transcoded, dematirialized and tele transported to whatever a client would like…. After playing a while with all the menus I found the – same as source – which seems to be the logical option, but I found so many options I’m still open to suggestions or recomendations. Again, mostly shoot DVCpro HD 108060i or 720p. What would you use?
Thanks!

December 18, 2010 at 10:21 pm in reply to: Avid Media Composer 5 switching from FCPCammie:
Well, exactly the opposite happened to me.. I was an AVID editor forced to Final Cut and I hate it. It has nothing to do with the programs, is just you know so well the other one that you will need time to get use to it. Something I did to simplify the transition and that may help you :
Map you keyboard to mimic the final cut keyboard. Both programs have more or less the same features but in different places. To map your MC keyboard click the settings tab in the master bin and double click keyboard. Then go to tools>command palette and beging mapping. You will need to identify which buttons do what because some icons are not the same.I also looked for Avid to FC tutorials so I guess you will find FC to Avid tutorials on line.
I ended up using FC fairly well, but after 2 years I’m back to my MC and I still like it better. Both programs have their pros and cons. You will be better off knowing how to use them both.

November 14, 2010 at 12:43 am in reply to: Transferring files to HVR-DR60 then into FCPSimilar issue, only that I don’t own the DVR DR60. The files were transfered in the field to a hard drive by the cameraman. Now I can’t access them either by log and transfer or import. I already installed the Sony plug in, but no change. Any suggestions or workable workflow?
Thanks

That did not worked, I’m reinstalling from my original install disk on a new mac, I used the System Update which downloads the current version and which won’t install because “you need 6.05” to install this software. Is an endless loop.

$#%@^!&@&!!!!!!
It did not work, I am reinstalling from original disk, so I’m in 6.0, can’t find 6.02, 6.04 won’t install without 6.02, found 6.06 wound install without 6.05, PRO APPLUPDATE2008-5 upgraded color but kept 6.0 intact
geez this is so frustrating I payed for the %^&!#@*$ software, any one with a least 6.02 installer so that I can open my filters – which I also payed for and can’t use either

Shane!!!!
Don’t want to sound romantic but love you man!, been looking for this for 2 days now. I’m SO UPSET that you pay for software, you are the legal owner and they make it so difficult to do a reinstall of any kind.
I was arguing at the apple site ( and now everybody hates me) that this is one of the reasons for so much software piracy. The other day I ended installing a crack version from a friend for software which I legally own, simply because I could not reinstall it because of all the stupid key, registration day of year, lunar position etc.. requested for my reinstallation. For me, companies are as thieves as the pirates, when they let us in the dark when new OS’s arrives.
I feel better now
Thanks for the link, lets see if I can get my mind back to editing…
