    Hi James,

No, I never found a solution to this problem. Ended up downloading Premiere CC, but don’t know if I’ve used an Iris Wipe since this problem started.
Certainly wish there were more definitive answers to obvious bugs like this.

I trust SDI can handle a run up to 300′ without completely cutting out. I’ve had cases of composite signal losing quality at that distance…using cheap coax.

On other forums, users continually ask about degradation of an HD/SD-HDI signal over long distances. My understanding, and based on Bill’s statement, it’s either all or nothing – no in between.
    Correct?

    Thanks,
    Jason

Thank you, Matt! I figured that was the way to go, but wasn’t sure if the mini adapter nullified any benefit of running one cable a longer distance than the other.

    Hi Vince,

I should’ve mentioned I’m on Windows7. Anyway to get the fix/patch without Vista?

  • Hi David,
The main question, based on my system specs, is do I have AE’s Multiprocessing setup logically?

I understand the lack of RAM and working with long GOP footage in AE are bogging down the machine. In the short term I’m stuck with what my employer offers.

I’ll look into trying the CS5.5 trial, however I know the processors installed cannot take advantage of the Mercury Playback Engine.

Yes, performed both of those operations, no difference. Here are two images to illustrate the differences.

This is without rendering the clip in the timeline and then exporting:

This is WITH rendering the clip prior to export:

The non-rendered version, however, is what the preview monitor displays when playing the timeline in FCP. When its paused, the rendered version appears.

Video Processing is RGB in Sequence Settings.

    Hi John,

Nothing is highlighted and no specific file name(s) is given on what’s missing. Perhaps I imported a file and then moved it and reconnected it in another spot and its still looking for a temporary reference or some kind? Really not sure. The Offline Files notice is just really annoying and I know there are no aspects missing in the timeline and no Red-slashed files in the FCP Browser window.

April 1, 2010 at 2:14 pm in reply to: Fair/proper billing of large project w/travel

Thank you for all the tips and opinions on this matter. Pretty much right in line with my thinking that a large fee should’ve been established before the project started and both sides agree that the 35-min goal was just a rough outline. Set the price for the script as presented and anything beyond that is extra.

Most of the days were charged a full rate even with only 2-4 hours on the set since I was basically stuck at that location or hotel room for the entire day or days on end. A few local spots were only half-day rates.

Thankfully I’ve not had to be in the middle of any discussions yet and will continue to avoid it as much as possible.

    Thanks again!

AH HA! One silly little check box and things are looking much better. Looks like I have to work with the logo or find a different one as its very rigid around the edges after output, but at least its finally using the full quality.

    Thanks Kevin!

    Hi Kevin,

I almost mentioned that in my first post; I’m aware of the Intel issue and originally believe that was the problem a couple weeks ago with another project and extreme system slowdown. I followed some steps/settings for the memory useage and it works! Well at least up until this issue.

I will try the fix you suggested later today and post the results.

As far as an upgrade from AE 7…. well…. talk to my boss lol. We require such little use from AE that he’ll never go for it. I’ve tried. Won’t even consider an upgrade to the latest FCStudio package. Everyone else in the office gets new MacPro Laptops and CS4 Web Premium, but not me. — End Rant.

    thanks!
