  • Filters not applied in Preview or Rendered

    FCP 6.0.6
    Sequence settings:
    square
    None
    XDCAM HD 1080p30 35/mbps

All proper render full quality boxes are selected, or appear to be. Used Render Manager to dump previous renders.

I have Levels and Color Corrector 3-way filters applied. Levels stacked on the 3-way.

When I render the clip in the timeline and play it, the effects are seen in the preview monitor. When I stop playing and the play head is on the clip, the effects are not displayed. The exported .MOV is also not displaying the effects. However, its not a simple on/off appearance with the effects. I can tell elements of the filters are still applied. The noticeable change is the saturation goes back to a harsh orange color that I had corrected with the filters.

Please help! Searched for over an hour now for a fix or another topic and came up empty.

Have you already done the usual maintenance when things go screwy in FCP (trash prefs, repair permissions etc)?

If not, then details have been posted here many times so search the forum.

(Forum leaders might consider posting these maintenance details in the FAQ so they are easier to find, along with Shane’s tapeless workflow tutorial.)

Yes, performed both of those operations, no difference. Here are two images to illustrate the differences.

This is without rendering the clip in the timeline and then exporting:

This is WITH rendering the clip prior to export:

The non-rendered version, however, is what the preview monitor displays when playing the timeline in FCP. When its paused, the rendered version appears.

Video Processing is RGB in Sequence Settings.
