Actually I figured out a solution.

I found out the original clips we’re captured in FCP 5 and I am using FCP 6…

Anyhow, what I did is I went to EXPORT —-> QUICKTIME MOVIE and exported my sequence as an HDV 1080i60 file.

For some magical reason it worked. Before I was using the Quicktime Conversion menu to try and export my sequence and thats when I encountered the problem.

I still haven’t figured out why the problem was occuring, but at least I found a solution.

Thanks guys for the help, it was really appreciated.

Thats what I thought at first as well, but why would I be able to playback the clips if that was the case?

If I preview the clips straight from the Finder, there’s no white screen problem. It only happens in FCP.

If I put the clips on a Premiere CS4 timeline, I get a yellowbar above the clip. There are no white screens, but I do get alot of video stutter when I try to play the clip.

    Actually, I’ve found a solution.

If I go to EDIT –> Purge —> All

the problem goes away. It eventually comes back but if I purge everytime its fine.

So I just need to purge before I render out my final version and everything works fine.

    Wierd problem though.

THis happened alot with all of Andrew Kramer’s stuff (Riot Gear, Evolution, etc.)

Actually, I may have solved my own problem

If I capture from my Z1 with HDV1080i settings and export at 720p, the interlacing is gone and the image is crisp.

Is there a 1080p buy any chance?

Is there any solution or way around it other than waiting for CS3?

I’ve also noticed that when I import the project into AE, the clips in my timeline appear as individual compositions instead of normal clips.

    Hi

Well I’m using Premiere Pro 2.0 and After Effects 7

I don’t think its necessiraly caused by the interframe issue of HDV since its happened to me before on smaller DV projects.

I’m going to try importing everything in small sequences to see if it makes a difference.

I’m also open to any other suggestions 🙂
