wait, I’m an idiot…Diffusion and/or Specular color channel..that makes sense and I totally forgot. Yes, I’m going for some luminace variation in the edge texture, thanks for jump starting my brain.
….maybe I need to do a multipass render and do the composite in after effects like you suggest, I was hoping there was a better way to do this. This is how I’m doing it now kinda. Wish I could explain it better. Thanks for the pointer however.
explain, im confused. If i have a extruded spline and use path deformer do i need to make my extruded spline an editable object. I got it to work, but it doesn’t look right
I have path deformer NOT lite…and you have to sub-divide spline so they travel on the path properly. And you might have to use “rail” in the sub-menu of path deformer. If you don’t sub-divide it won’t bend and also try placing a Null object and then placing path deformer and spline as child of that. Or you can download “Quick Pipe” for free through Maxon and try using that as a option. Hope this helps. Study the example that came with Path deformer to see how he sets up his scene. If you need more help ask Renalto (sp?) the guy who made path defomer, he’s very helpful
