May 3, 2013 at 12:35 pm in reply to: How to import Davinci Layout into EuControl?? For Avid MC ColorJust wanted to update and say big thanks to Lee! This has breathed new life into the artist panel. Before I had to lose 3 sets of buttons (banks + right shift). AND none of my “window” knobs worked. This worked like a charm:
1. Install eucon and then restart computer again.
2. open resolve
3. set your control surface to ‘none’ in resolve preferences.
4. exit resolve.
5. restart resolve choose artist color.
6. restart resolve. In addition I did the following:
Connected to port 1
Powered up the board first then did all the installs
Once Eucon is installed always run it before opening Resolve (and power up the panel before Eucon)
Used a standard Ethernet cable. Zero issues so far. Connects every time. Thanks guys for the help. Now here’s my next question – How do I change the right shift and bank presets? Eucon only allows me to do the F buttons and one set of shift presets. The template also doesn’t show what keyboard key it is mapped to it just shows “F3” and so forth rather than “F3 does ALT-D”. I’m going to try ControllerMate next.

April 23, 2013 at 11:46 pm in reply to: How to import Davinci Layout into EuControl?? For Avid MC ColorI’m using a cat 5 Ethernet cable. The specific crossover cable matters here?

April 23, 2013 at 7:57 pm in reply to: How to import Davinci Layout into EuControl?? For Avid MC ColorSo in other words the Bank buttons and the right shift does not work properly? Strange that they printed that PDF with the breakdown but don’t allow any of it to be customized. Or perhaps that is on EuCon’s end?

With 10.8.3 we see more of a jump from RAM than the GT120. Jumping from 16GB to 48GB increased playback by .5FPS to nearly 2FPS depending on Blur nodes. Our low end 570 machines now get realtime with 8 blur nodes (as single GPU/GUI). Highly recommend dumping that money on RAM and disk speed vs another GT120. Unless you need the boot screen.

Wait, you can run a 690 in a mac pro with stock power? I thought the TDP for a 680 was the limit?
Also, 9.1.3 shows my GT120 as the GUI in the system overview. Then the 570s are listed separate (as GPUs).

April 23, 2013 at 5:41 pm in reply to: How to import Davinci Layout into EuControl?? For Avid MC ColorThanks for the help guys. I’ve installed EuControl on 3 or 4 machines and get the same results every time. It “sees” resolve but when you open the customization window it doesn’t have any of the buttons labeled. The functions seem to work but it doesn’t look like a “template” that MC Color is implementing for Resolve.
Also, why does BMD show the “bank” buttons as having a function in their official PDF but they don’t actually work?

April 22, 2013 at 9:20 pm in reply to: How to import Davinci Layout into EuControl?? For Avid MC ColorSo do the “Bank” buttons function in Resolve? The PDF from BMD for the MC Color shows operations mapped to the Bank Keys. So I assumed they were functional.

April 22, 2013 at 3:47 pm in reply to: How to import Davinci Layout into EuControl?? For Avid MC ColorAlso, it seems my Bank Keys are not functioning and my “right” shift executes the same command as my left. How do I get EuControl to differentiate these?

With Half-Res premium you’ll get realtime. Full-Res will require a fully spec’d machine to really crunch that. Or jump to dual rockets. Heres what we get for reference:
12-13fps @ Full Res
Mac Pro 4,1 2.26×2
48GB Ram
5 Drive SW RAID
Decklink
Rocket
GTX570 1.2GB
GT120 (GUI)24FPS with 4 Blur and 23FPS with 8 Blur nodes on Half-Res

April 22, 2013 at 2:07 pm in reply to: Anybody using Avid Artist Control with Resolve?Michael,
Any further luck with this? I’m running 9.1.3 now so I’ll have to test and see. I feel with 9.1.1 I didn’t have control over some of the knobs even though the window was displaying a certain property to change.
