They said they would get back to me with the detail but nothing yet.
Would you use the mp4 setting as a basis (what I tried) or a quicktime / h264 setting if it was you?

Yes I have the same thing going on. I’ve been around and around the track with drivers, firmware, raid card, etc. and can’t get it resolved except by setting things to 8 bit. Much phone time with support… they are puzzled. Not sure what is up. It started when I installed the new drivers but oddly does not revert when I reinstall the old ones.. Stumped.

Hi John,
Definitely set the output to the format you will be mastering in. What deck and format are are you outputting to?
If not outputting to a deck I assume you have the Kona for monitoring and you will want to set it to something compatible with your monitor.

Yes, that solved my problem to. What is odd is that the editor tells me he’s been using that 10 bit setting for a long time with out problems. I’m a bit confused as I thought ProRes was a 10 bit codec.

Playback was set to 10 bit. Not sure who did that. Going back to the correct 8 bit setting and everything is normal.
Duh.

Holy cow. If it wasn’t snowing heavy I’d head over to the office now and check that setting. I’ll have a look at that in the morning.

Hi Gary,
I did update the drivers. I didn’t know that the board had updatable firmware. I can’t find that on the AJA site.
