use previews for the final render or just using previews in general?

How do you see what you’re editing if you don’t use previews? (unless Im understanding it wrong)

Btw, thanks for the answers thus far…Been using premiere for 3 years now and Ive always had it on memory but lately I’ve been reading conflicting things, especially now that I have a high end machine..

I always do max render quality..and I always export to the same resolution I edit it..

maybe it having so many clips does add to render time, because I havent changed any settings from my last edit..It just seems slower rendering…1 pass is taking longer than 2 pass on a previous edit…wonder what the deal is..

Yes that’s what I use already. I just crank up the bitrate a little bit.

    My text turns out jaggy

    Yes I am.

My footage is 720p @ 23.976 – Uploading it with the same specs to Youtube. Yea I wish youtube encoding info was more public, like the best combos.

Im currently using 2pass VBR. Target 8mpbs, max 10mpbs. The PPro CS5 preset for youtube hd is 6mpbs..but I thought that was a little low..

    Wait, huh really?

I have to de-interlace the entire video or just the images? Can you be a bit more specific..I’ve never heard that.

My footage is 1280×720/23.976p – exporting it out to the same exact resolution/fps. Using media encoder cs5, settings 2 pass VBR target 8mpbs, max 10mpbs. Audio AAC stereo 128kpbs.

Maximum depth render. etc. I dont think its necessary to take a screenshot, let me know if you need anymore info.

Wow thanks for the very constructive and very thorough feedback! Much appreciated. That 4k tidbit makes me feel a bit better about whats going on..

Im going to send some emails out tomorrow to some of the people that made the vids I like and do just that, ask what their secret encoding sauce is. Hopefully get some good results.

Thanks again for your response, defiantly going to try some of that out

A little bit of both, but most of it shows up after once it’s uploaded for youtube..

I was told by a friend that Youtube doesn’t like a lot of intense water. My edit has a lot of that..Anything I can do?

It looks good, but man I want it to look as crystal clear as others videos Ive seen on youtube..

    I feel like im close

[Graham Macfarlane] “If so I would suggest trying to effect your twixtor manipulation within Premiere Pro instead of AE.”

Dave gave me the general answer, but from your experience Graham, are there any benefits/negatives to using Twixtor within Premiere rather than AE? Thanks

OK..I can understand that..I’d prefer hard set rules, haha, but that makes sense. I guess I will just have to do my own experimenting then.

I’m going to try to stay within Premiere then and see what happens.

    Thanks everyone.
