Thanks, Peter. I’m thinking that I’m going to buy the GH2 with the 14-140mm lens –that way when I pick up the AF100, I’ll have a decent zoom to use there. The GH2 and the AF100 look to be great companions!

Thanks for the info, Peter. For some reason I was under the impression that the GH2 would be available sans lens. Are there other manufacturer’s lenses that would autofocus on the GH2? I do have some old manual Nikkors that would be fun to use, but it would be nice to have a fast zoom that would autofocus, as well.

I’ve used both. What Edius has going for it is mixed format/resolution/framerate editing in real-time. And I mean real real-time –as in NO rendering. If you routinely use multiple flavors of video on a single timeline, it is worth a look. I understand it is very popular in newsrooms because of its speed.

Thanks, Gerardo. I use a Panasonic HVX200 with a Letus Extreme 35mm lens adapter. Manual Canon lenses would be great use with the AF100. Here’s a chart that compares frame/sensor sizes. The AF100 has a 4/3 sensor.

The to-be-released-next-month Panasonic AF100 might be a good choice for you. It has a large 4/3’s sensor and you can use your existing photographic lenses with it –and it will overcrank to 60fps. Price tag of $5k.

I’m not familiar with Conduit Live, but I would definitely go component out into a dedicated monitor –you need to make sure you are seeing what the camera is seeing, with no effects or processing applied.

The post portion wouldn’t be too tough to pull off in After Effects with the Zaxwerks 3D Flag plug-in. The much harder part is pulling off a good chroma key shoot.
