How did you get a top-of-the-range iMac with only 4GB of RAM? You need to get that up to at least 8GB; 16 is better. How is your storage connected?

That’s what I’ve been doing with my 2011 Macbook Pro, but I don’t do color critical work.

I like the sound of the audio overload protection. I’ve been using a JuicedLink DT454 to record audio directly into my GH2 with great success. JuicedLink makes good stuff.

I remember having that issue when I first bought the monitor, but there has been a number of firmware updates since then and the problem has been resolved.

You can get all that, plus easy in-camera audio with the AF100. You can get good audio with the DSLRs, but as you know it requires more gear and more time. I don’t think you would ever be sorry about buying an AF100. It’s an easy transition from the HVX200 and you can use a multitude of lenses with it.
