I would create a matte color solid or gradient, crop it down to create your thin veil, lower the opacity…

If you wanted something fancier, you could create it in photoshop if you export png on a transparent background

Have you tried all the various Export methods? Export Selection, Export w/ Compressor?

Have you tried migrating the project to another computer? — that may tell you if it’s your machine or it’s something about the project that is causing the issue…

Is it failing at the start of the export? During? Or just giving you a bad file?

Sorry, that’s a lot of questions, but that’s the best way to get to an answer 🙂

  • I believe (not 100%) that if you go to System Preferences > Start Up Disk… you should see icons for both operating systems – then just select the one you want.

Buy the Motion 3 Apple Pro Training Series book… it comes with a DVD with tutorials for every chapter.

I think you explained it well… you should try to reveal through keyframed “cropping and edge feather”, or a “mask move with feathering”.

I’m thinking maybe Josh means the “visibility” check boxes?? Not sure the technical term…

You can only check them off/on if the group/layer is unlocked — much like Photoshop. If you can’t uncheck them, see if your lock is on.

If you’re not playing through the timeline, unchecking a behavior, for instance, will not appear to have an effect – although it probably does. You have to scrub through to see…

I uncheck filters and some behaviors when the project gets large with many layers, and check them back before exporting or ram-previewing a final product.

Is that what you meant Josh?

Open System Preferences > International > Input Menu…

Check Keyboard Viewer and Character Pallete

Now on your Menu Bar you should see an American Flag… you can access all your characters from both of these (I prefer the Character Palette).

You can input directly into your Text or Boris titles (or Photoshop or most anything else for that matter).

I use this tool almost every day, very handy.

I may have read your question too fast… are you asking about accented characters or column trouble??

Just to add… If you make columns in Boris Title 3D it may be easier to control your columns.

I believe there’s a character limit on file names… just abbreviate your sequence name (eliminate spaces and whatnot).
