  • PARTIALLY SOLVED: But not really. It appears the Metadata output defaults have to be made in AME Preferences. This makes it apply globally to all my clips in the Watch Folder. But this doesn’t allow me to have varied/multiple custom Metadata Templates associated with multiple Watch Folders (and associated Presets). It’s a step closer, but I want the Preferences to be specific to my custom Watch Folders.

  • Option #2: There is already existing stock footage of exactly what you are looking for. In 10 seconds with a google search, I found a silhouetted golf swing on Shutterstock. This could save you time and effort.

  • We’ve seen some issues like that as well, recently with footage that came from Final Cut (live capture) and also from some aiff files. Our solution was to export the audio as a wav file from QT Pro and import that, and all worked nicely after that. Not ideal, but it kept us moving forward.

“Apple and Google conspire to rule the video world.”

I seriously doubt Apple and Google are conspiring together… but if they ever merged… hurry up and get your Gapple domain name rights now!

I think you are on to something though. Apple has made FCPX a gateway for the mass market to create YouTube/HTML5 compliant video. The more HTML5 compliant video is out there saturating the web, the more leverage that gives Apple in shaping web standards that are more befitting for there iOS device market.

Consider using Mark Spencer’s tutorial on Building 3D Objects.

    https://pixelcorps.cachefly.net/macbreak-164-540p-h264a.mov

Build your 6 layers (all squares) in Photoshop. One layer is your cover, another layer is thin lines to look like pages, etc…

When you’ve finished building out your square cube, just squash down the Group’s Y scale (to 20%ish to flatten it) and Z scale (to 70%ish to make it more rectangular like a book). You can always add other details like Text to the Group later by matching up the Text Layer’s rotation/position with the Cube layer’s rotation/positions.

You could take the image into Photoshop. Erase the poster and touch it up with content aware auto-fill. Bring that image back in to FCP and use it as a mask (crop and feather). Should work as long as he’s not a hand talker waving his arms around.

I would paint chroma green shapes on the pumpkin, then key out the shapes so you can layer in the glowing flame behind the eyes and mouth.

Right, that’s what I mean. MPEG Streamclip allows Export to Other Formats (w/ Flip4Mac installed this means wmv becomes an export option).

Rafael, it does. I use it all the time for wmv conversion. You just need Flip4Mac w/ WMV installed, then Export to Other Formats. I believe Ceri already has Flip4Mac, so it should work.
