There is no frame progressive or interlaced setting until you render.

BUT there is no option for 59.94…only 29.97. If the “standard” or “normal” 720p setting is 60 frames per second, then why doesn’t AE have a setting according to that specification?

Either I’m missing something…or someone is wrong. Please read this post from the Cinematography forum:

I have no idea if it’s right or not…that’s what I’m trying to figure out.

I fully understand how to create a comp with the correct frame rate.

I get the fact that (as I’m told) 720p video *can* run at a video FRAME rate of 60 frames per second.

    What I don’t get is why AE’s template for 720 is 29.97, NOT 59.94.

Everyone who I know that is shooting 720 @ 60fps uses it in a 29.97 comp so it plays back footage in slo-motion.

I just wanted to make sure that I understood things correctly and this is an oversight or slightly incorrect on Adobe’s part to have the *standard* template set correctly.

    Thanks Kevin!

I’ve been playing with the range selector and it’s VERY close to what I am wanting to do…is there a way to make the range selection more precise? I can snap it to an out point…or a cut…but the starting point is just where I start my mouse click.

That is a VERY cool feature…thanks for the heads up on it!

Yes…sorry guys, I confused things…I thought Shane was responding to me…when the response was to Jack.

My bad…I’ll try to pay better attention in the future.

Thanks for the great information though!

BTW, Shane, where are you located? I travel a bunch…I’d love to meet you in person sometime if I’m in your area.

So your reason for having 2 graphic cards is a dual boot system? I’m not understanding…

I’m trying to learn Motion…probably won’t use color until I get more familiar and comfortable with FCP.

    When you say:

[Shane Ross] “freak out when TWO are present.”

are you referring to the Adrenaline card and the Kona conflicting?
