April 27, 2007 at 4:01 pm in reply to: EMERGENCY:Tape appears to be write protected???????No, that is automactically set from the mini dv. what ever that is set too, is what the adapter will be
it is def the rec inh field that is lit up, i followed the manuals instructions, which is not easy to understand, but what i need is not in the section, everything else but the rec inh. that is explained in the overview of my machine, but when you get into that section there is nothing about the rec inh
Thanks

Thanks so much that is what I thought, but I still need to know why , when I export the sequence to quicktime via quicktime conversion, I use the same settings as I recorded the footage and brought it into FCP with and left FCP with the HDV 1080i. the quicktime is great, then when I exported the sequence via quicktime conversion again, I used the h264 codec thinking i would get just as good quality with a smaller file size, but I was wrong. Why? Please help.
why is the file bigger with h264 vs. hdv 1080i
Thanks

Handbrake does not give you the ability to rip to DV, only certin codecs and since the h264 is the only one that I can manipulate in FCP, that is what I had to work with, and yes, the frame size was changed
I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet huh? It is now at 15% with 21 hrs left. Is it really gonna take a full 24hrs to finish this. This is crazy
Thanks
