To speed things up, one important thing is to check under the view button over the canvas to be sure not to use any of the render possibilities absolutely needed in the creation of your animation.Just uncheck everything. If you also under Menu: edit/project settings have the 32 floating point enabled and floatingpoint under the view button activated it will slow everything down. I just made a 3d animation of 6 different films in HD flying around and some lightning and turned all renderpossibilties off, turned the render quality to draft and using the resolution menu over the canvas to take down the resolution as low as possible. This was the only way to handle the animation work. Then activating again to see and adjust the final result.

I have tested the 25p with my 330 but I did not like the result. I got a sligth strobe effect in picture mostly when I have moved the camera. It don’t look like a field order problem. I use FCP and have tested different settings. Any tips?

Check under the RT button to the left on the timeline. Use the “full quality”at bottom of the RT menu. Also check the rendering settings for the sequence. I don’t remember if the full quality choice overruns the sequence settings so check the RT button first.

The Sony transfer do not work at this moment for 35mbits file at least not for me. I use the Flip4Mac software. But you still have to install the Sony transfer software as it make it possible to see your camera as a hard drive on desktop. Flip4 can not reach the files directly so you have to copy the mxf files from camera to your HD and then import them from inside FCP. When I not have to use 35mbits files i use only the Sony Transfer software and all goes in one moment from inside FCP. The Flip4 has some buggs not showing all sound channels so check that up first. I think there is a differnence if you have recorded in 2 or 4channel mode.I think that 4 channelmode works but not 2channel that loses a channel when importing.
There is also a bug in Sony transfer showing the file name twice in finalcut. Turn off the direct import to FCP and let the transfer software just put the converted files to your acual HD. Then import the files manually from there and it will work fine.

Just export it to a new file by using export-quicktimemovie. Use “current settings” “audio video” as you like and I usually set markers to none.
After named and saved import the clip and you have a new fresh clip to go on with.
