NAB- Sony Supports XDcam with FCP 5.1
Just thought I’d let ya’ll know that sony is now supporting XDCAM SD and HD and the Mac. Although you will not be able to access the MXF files through the Ethernet port it will have to be through the Firewire Port. Also you will be able to export back to the XDcam as long as its in IMX or DVcam. So unless you need to use the Ethernet port you will no longer need Telestream.

An Apple rep at the Sony booth demonstrated it. Also Apple has updated there FCP website. Check out the “Edit Anything” it talks about Sony supporting the XDcam HD but didn’t say anything about SD. But I talked to the guys yesterday and they had both the SD and HD Deck and were demoing both. Sony has not released the Software yet for download, I think they are waiting for FCP 5.1.
