It seems that you already solved your problem, but still if you don’t mind I post here.
For the 4K, that YouTube may not support very well, for the playback may be jerky. Also the XAVC format is not friendly to YOuTube. You can edit your files in FCP or other editing software before uploading to YouTube. -
Have you tried the test yet, because I am eager to know the results, for I am stucking in editing XAVC-l, vegas just keep crashing. So I have to convert them to mpeg before loading into vegas.

thx for your post and you reall make my day. And I was always struggle with the XAVC videos which has been a big headache for me. Before noticing your post, I was using some third-party converter to help me, although it worked well , still prefer for the Browser.

March 20, 2015 at 8:52 am in reply to: Sony PMW-100 XDCAM, mpr.ewc2 files and importing to FCPXdid you solve your problem now? Sometimes the codec downloaded didn’t do what they should do. And for fcp, it will transcode the origianl videos into prores behind the backstage. so you can try to convert them first, then reload into fcp, suggest you try some converters, but not for sure about the outputq quality, once I had tried one from pav, which turned OK, you can have a try.

you can try to convert your videos into mpeg, which may be more compatible for your pp. this is just about some codec thing, recommend you to try some converters to see if they can help.

hope you don’t mind I post here, but really this post helps me a lot and saves me a lots of time about the same problems. I know the longer conversion related to the Bit rate, if you want to downscle the bitrate ,the quality may be influenced. Still too large files are a big problem.

Good to know how it work ! But sometimes I just can’t load my xavc into fcp x, even use the sony browser or their plug-in….So I have to transcode them to prores first then reload into FCP.

March 4, 2015 at 7:07 am in reply to: How can I import or convert single MTS files into Premiere ProOld thread , but still , did you figure out your problem now? If you want to load your MTS files into PP, then did the latest version support? I am not sure about that because personally I use FCP. But If you work on mac system, then you can try to convert your avhchd into mpeg if you want to load them into PP.
