A progressive capture will net you greater resolution than de-interlacing two fields. The de-interlacer has to lose a little resolution between the two fields in order to get rid of the temporal difference of those two fields. The DVX100 will provide a better result.

Hi,

If B & H is selling product that they bought from us, the box has software in it and the DVX Book. They have over in their used division some gray market cameras. They may have some older boxes that only have the Magic Bullet and if you get one of those then all you would need to do is fax me a copy of the invoice with your serial number and I would send you a DVX-Book.

Hi,

The warranty started when your seller bought his camera a year ago. You could use the end of his warranty if he also transfers his sales invoice with the camera. Without the invoice Panasonic will look at the serial number on the camera and will use that to determine the warranty.

You probably can get a Mack Warranty, I think that B & H sells them separately, but best to just give them a call and find out.

Because the Camera is recording 50i it has to lay 24 frames into 50i, therefore with only one frame left out of the fields available, it would look wierd, so 25 frames it is.

There isn’t a way to do an even gated pulldown against 50 fields. Since there is only one frame difference, 24 vs 25, the video would look like it had a hiccup, if the 24P was not extracted. Unlike NTSC where there is an opportunity to put 6 frames into the 24, and the gate is very even.

The PAL version is what they use in NZ. It will do 1080/25P. Basically the Camera mimics what it does on the SD domain.

Hi Chris,

The least expensive deck is the AJ-HD1200A, and be aware that at that price it has no input card. You will need the firewire care which will raise its price a bit. However, I think it all goes back to how often you finish a project, or rather how many projects you do for TV, that would drive the decision to purchase or rent. The deck is available on a rental very cheaply, as an example you can rent it at Abel Cine Tech for $650.
So if it is a weekly thing you are needing to record, obviously you should look at purchase, but if it is once every couple of weeks, then maybe rental for a while.
