I can buy a used Panasonic 100A camcorder, great condition, hardly used. The owner never sent it the registration card? Can I still send that card in even though the purchase was made a year ago? If so can I still buy and reigster a Mack extended warranty?

I need to make this decision within 24 hours so quick input appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

The warranty started when your seller bought his camera a year ago. You could use the end of his warranty if he also transfers his sales invoice with the camera. Without the invoice Panasonic will look at the serial number on the camera and will use that to determine the warranty.

You probably can get a Mack Warranty, I think that B & H sells them separately, but best to just give them a call and find out.

    Hope this helps,

    Jan

    Thanks Jan.

    Mack says “no”

Would you buy it anyway if it was a savings of about $400 over a new one?
This is a judgement call but given your experience I figure your judgement is probably better than mine.

    Thanks.

    Buy new……

You’ll get $300 cash back anyways if you buy within your current deadline.

    Good luck,

    Tim

What Tim said. If you buy a new one you get a $300 rebate, plus the DVX Book/DVD, plus Magic Bullet Editors software, plus a manufacturer’s warranty, plus a free CGR-D54 long-life battery, plus a box of AMQ tapes. You probably wouldn’t get any of that stuff if you bought used. Just be sure to buy from an authorized reseller and not one of the bait ‘n’ switch gray-marketers; if you buy gray-market you get *none* of that stuff.
