The camera was telling you that there was a head clog. YOu should have taken the time to clean the heads. Now you may try cleaning the heads ans it may be that the heads became dirty after you finished your recording. Wasn’t sure when you started to see the Red symbol mentioned above.

Hi,

The camera will make 15 partitions into which it will copy one card per partition. If you have 4 GB cards that would give you 60 GBs of data. That is all you will be able to use on the drive. If you had 8GB cards, it would use 120GB of space, but still that would be the largest drive you would need.

Hi Lars,

The problem is most likely that you are importing to FCP off of the card. I have seen this many times. The recommendation is for Apple users to move the data off of the Card to a Hard Drive, and then import. Problem will not happen again.

Hi,

If you are recording 24P over 60i, the the frames are recorded as follows.

AA BB BC CD DD.

There are a number of places that are not good for editing, and in fact the most appropriate places for a sure thing, read non-problematic, is at the AA frame.

If I record 24PA then the sequence is:

AA BB BC CC DD and then I ingest into the NLE with an automatic removal and the frames then look like the following:

AA BB CC DD.

Edit where you want.

On export have the NLE reinsert the pull-down so the video goes back to a smooth 24P and you have:

AA BB BC CD DD.

Hi,

If it were me, I would shoot in 1080/24PA. This will be 24 progressive frames over a 60i signal. Import and remove all of the extra stuff so that your editing is done on a 24P timeline. This will make you editing easy and you won’t have to concern yourself with where not to edit as you would in the embedded 24P/60i mode. Once your edit is finished, output to 60i with the pull-down reintated and uncompressed to the HDCAM-SR machine.

So which version of the Mac OS and Quicktime are you running? I have not heard of this problem, seems odd to be coming up now?

Hi Joe,

The P2 card has limitation up to 1000 clips since many clips causes slow response on P2cam. Unfortunately, ‘virtual P2card’ in P2viewer has same limitation. So, you cannot store more than 1000 clips in a folder.

So with that infor, just start a new folder and it will work once again.

Hi,

Right now the CitiDisk is in a premature state. It does not record the MXF files but only QT, so this is fine as long as you are notlooking to offload to something other than FCP. It will not be triggered by the record button on the camera and it will not play the footage back through the LCD in the High Def Modes. Those features are coming.

As far as it recording 1080, yes it does, but I apologize, I forgot to ask them whether it recorded the flags for easy exctraction of the 24P regardless of mode. I will send him an email and ask. If he responds I will answer here.
