  • Take the P2 Card and put it in the camera. See what the camera thinks is really recorded there. It almost sounds like there its shot in 60P not 50. or maybe your time line is set up for 60P and not 50P or some such combination.

    Hope that helps,

  • Hi Steve,

Unfortunately during the time you have been testing and reviewing the camera on line, I have been out having surgery and going through recovery to repair a rotator cuff injury and a break in my humorus bone. Having just come back the other day, I saw your post to me on Linked in and thought before I respond, it would be better to take a look at a camera and refresh my senses on it before responding.

While I cannot argue your experience, and it may well be that you may have had a faulty camera, but the servo motor on the camera I tested in the lab while being audible close up, I could not hear nor record it from 6 feet away. The build quality is as robust as our AF100 or the DVX100 and is certainly comparable with the competitive cameras.

None the less, sorry I have not been on line for the last couple of weeks, and in fact this was the first NAB in 23 years I have not attended. That was truly strange. I am slowly on the mend.

I still feel that in comparison to the other cameras in its price range the AC160 is a viable contender, but each person has to weigh the features vs the needs and decide for themselves.

    Best regards,

  • [Shane Ross] ” That camera only shoots 30fps at 1080. If you want TRUE progressive 23.98…shoot 720p.”

Actually Shane the AG-HPX170 works just like the HVX200 in 1080. The customer has a choice of shooting in 24P or 24PA. For easy removal shoot in 24PA. In 720 they would shoot in 24PN(native.) I know it gets confusing with all the cameras and technology out there, but the right answer here is shoot in 24PA in 1080, that will give you 24Progressive frames on the timeline when it is set up to do 23.98 and remove pulldown.

    Hi,

Until Cineform finishes their plug-in, that is really not going to be possible as a file transfer.

You could use the BlackMagic UltraStudio3D (you need Thunderbolt on your machine) and play the footage through to capture over two sdi inputs on your machine. Yes a little tedious but it is possible.

    After NAB, a different story,

The 910 is maybe a smidge larger, but it has much better resolution and has additional features for about the same price.

The BT-LH80 has been discontinued. It has been replaced by the BT-LH910.
