In DVDA, goto Project Properties -> Disc Properties -> Extras Folder and then direct where the folder is that you need burned.

For DVD you want to use MainConcept MPEG-2 and then use the NTSC widescreen video stream template. Then export your audio separately using the Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro setting. Name both files the same and when you import the video file into DVDA, the audio should follow automatically. If you have a BluRay burner and are exporting for BluRay then use the BluRay 1920×1080 60i template. Hope this helps.

  • Make sure your project properties match the footage you are using.

I don’t think it’s possible to bump John’s status up any higher lol. When it comes to the Vegas forum, he is “The Man”. His expertise with Vegas & video production are greatly valued here. In fact, I’ve taken a liking to Premier Pro but still find myself looking at this forum to see if I can learn anything new from people like John, Steve & many other who give their time here.

Thank you both for the replies! Jeff, I know it is 720×480 but for some reason this is an option when exporting from Avid – this must be Avid’s way of flagging it for 16×9 – it’s all very confusing. Thanks again.

Why not go outside, record a few minutes of room tone and add it to your timeline? With that as a bed, it may give you the sound you want.

I have VP9 but I think this work-around will work in VP10. Just create a new track and insert an Empty Event to the lenght needed and then apply the time code fx to it. Hope that helps.

Mike, I think Terry could be on the right track here since Rex has mov. files and not mxf.

Rex, what version of Vegas are you using and can you play these mov. files with the QT player? In the QT player, go to – Window – Show Movie Inspector. Tells us what codec it says.
