How to save 360p Quality with Vegas Pro 9?
Posted by Ash Heath on April 2, 2011 at 12:03 amI’ve been trying for so long, if you can help me please do:
I need to be able to save a Vegas pro 9 file as 360p (default) quality but so it’s fitting YouTube’s screen. AVI and WMV is a definite no.
What is the fastest render method (but will still be 360p widescreen) ?
What screen resolution should I use? Right now the video is 1080 x 605. Rendering as an MP4 with custom dimensions of 1080 x 605 cause my computer to shut down without warning (like AVI and WMV).Please help if you can in any way.

Render using Sony AVC with the Internet 640×360-30p template. If Vegas Pro 9.0 doesn’t have that template, just use the Internet 4:3 SD 30p template and change the height to 360.

April 2, 2011 at 12:19 amI’m on SV Pro 9, Sony AVC doesn’t have that exact template you mentioned; do I have to edit(customize) an existing “Internet” template?

Just use the Internet 4:3 SD 30p template, press the Custom… button and change the height to 360 (the width is already 640).

April 2, 2011 at 1:17 amIt rendered well, good quality (for 360p). I’m guessing I’ll (at the least) be able to get further than I had been able to with my 200kb+ .veg file (12 minutes).
If there’s something I can do to support your account (reputation or something) I will, but I don’t know how. Just tell me how I can ‘bump your account’ in the ranks 🙂

April 2, 2011 at 3:15 amI don’t think it’s possible to bump John’s status up any higher lol. When it comes to the Vegas forum, he is “The Man”. His expertise with Vegas & video production are greatly valued here. In fact, I’ve taken a liking to Premier Pro but still find myself looking at this forum to see if I can learn anything new from people like John, Steve & many other who give their time here.

April 2, 2011 at 3:55 amWith that vegasaur thing, what is it exactly? Does it upload the file from SVG directly to YouTube (like Movie Maker does) ?

April 2, 2011 at 12:14 pmAsh, that’s a kind offer and I do have a suggestion… If you want to pay me back… pass it along help someone else. And it doesn’t have to be someone in these forums. It could be someone you know or someone you don’t know. Make an effort to find someone who could use your help or expertise and help them. That’s the best way to say thanks. 😉

Thanks James, I really appreciate the kind words. I do what I can to give back to the community and hopefully it rubs off on others. 😉
