Yes, I have compressor, but most people on this forum suggest using h.264 out of compressor, even with a very high bit rate and multi pass vbr and best quality settings I still get dull colors. How would you suggest using compressor to get passable results for a smaller download file with colors that don’t look grey and washed out /dull?

yes I have been working in DV but I would like to work in a larger format, just not sure how to get started, my camera takes pictures in 1936 x 1288, what sort of project should I be working in? I would eventually like to be able to burn my work back to DVD.

The current bit rate is 6.2mbs, the video has lots of changes in color thus does not compress we’ll, the audio I am using in compressor is aiff is there another way in compressot use the audio format that you are talking about?

also what is the relationship between audio and bit rate?

    thank you so much,

I have watched your tutorial but it is not the way that the panasonic shoots slow motion. It does it in camera, using the 720/24pn setting then setting the desired frame rate (slow or fast in the menu) is there any way to do this with
our version of final cut pro and the fire store??
    thanks

but what can I do ? How can I not turn them into DV quality video? Are they still higher than say what a VX 2000 would shoot or how about a canon XL2 ? How high quality can DV video go and what size image should I be shooting.

And what about burning them to a DVD should I out put them as a quick time file and then put them in DVD studio pro uncompressed ?
I am using final cut 5.

These are the questions I really need the answers too.
Thank you for responding to these questions.

where do I find the format settings for clips in my bin. is it the frame size / compressor info that extends to the right of clips in the bin? I dont see any thing here about the format. My project is set to NTSC 29.97 anamorphic, which has been working with both the sony and panasonic cameras until this last batch of clips.
    thanks
