OK…MY BAD…I don’t totally follow. Sorry for my ignorance…..
I basically just have my own website and would like to post some quicktime vids that will hopefully play at fairly decent quality.
I’m looking quick time settings now. For example:
1. What compression type?
2. Frames/sec (i imagine same as source)I guess the big question is the compression types which i’m not familar with. What type does the COW use? If it isn’t a super secret?

Also….are you using a 32 or 64 bit version of Windows 7? I’m not sure if After Effects works with a 64 bit version or does it?

That’s very interesting about windows 7. I recall them even saying they “compatibility modes” as well if necessary.
Just out of curiosity, how long would take to render a minute of greenscreen footage on your computer?

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. I realize rendering is fundamentally a slow process, especially as more things get computed.
Is the multiprocessing thing not much of a time saver? I only have 2 gigs of ram in this computer right now, so i’m not using that option presently.

Hey there..my audio synch probs with HDV in after effects have driven me crazy. I try to work with the Mpeg2 in AFX and it sucked. Are you saying that buy converting those audio synch issues disappeared? I sure hope so.
You recommend avi? In AFX I turned my mpeg2 into a jpeg sequence..but the corresponding audio file was still out of synch. I will try to conver to AVI in PP2 and see if stays in sync in AFX.Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Hey..thanks for the support. I’ll try to get a better greenscreen when i get back to Canada and light it up well. Should be a lot easier than what I’ve been doing. Here in Korea space is so limited.

Sorry for the lack of info. Originally my composition was HDV size, then I made a new comp 720 by 480 and nested in the original. It crashed the first time I tried to render. So I did a jpeg sequence this time. The pixel aspect ratio was D1/DV NTSC (0.9).

I reinterpreted the footage as 29.97 like the original and it seems to match up now, whereas before I see it was set for 30. So I’ll see if that makes a difference in the render.

I’m not exactly sure yet. But I did a timestretch to fit the right time. But it goes out of synch half way through. So irritating.
It’s a new a HDV camera for me. It’s great. It captures all in synch, but on some renders it goes out of synch.
Hmm….another can of worms it looks like…
