JPEG Sequ. Doesn’t Match Original Comp!!!
Wow…this is really irritating. You may know me from my other thread, I waited 24 hours for a ten minute composition of HDV footage plus effects to render. (I failed to mention that on my second attempt I was rendering into jpeg footage in case it crashed again.)
Anyways, my machine is AMD Dual Core 4200+, 3 Gigs of Ram, AFX CS3
Here’s my latest irritating news in this continuing saga:
“The Rebels have hidden on the distant planet of Tatooie….”
And really:
After a 24 hour render, my jpeg sequence doesn’t match the same size as the composition from which it came!!!! So how do I get the sound to match??? Should I stretch the comp to fit? I will try it now!! Anyways, the render time is only 30 minutes now. We’ll see!!!

AE automatically defaults to 30fps for imported sequences. Did that happen here?

I’m not exactly sure yet. But I did a timestretch to fit the right time. But it goes out of synch half way through. So irritating.
It’s a new a HDV camera for me. It’s great. It captures all in synch, but on some renders it goes out of synch.
Hmm….another can of worms it looks like…

I reinterpreted the footage as 29.97 like the original and it seems to match up now, whereas before I see it was set for 30. So I’ll see if that makes a difference in the render.

Sorry for the lack of info. Originally my composition was HDV size, then I made a new comp 720 by 480 and nested in the original. It crashed the first time I tried to render. So I did a jpeg sequence this time. The pixel aspect ratio was D1/DV NTSC (0.9).

It’s a common mistake. I made it yesterday, myself. I forgot that one of my clients draws animation frames at 24 FPS instead of 30, and I imported the file with AE’s default 30FPS setting. Watch this video for more info:
