    Hi Jeffrey-
Try holding the alt key when you apply the clip so you’re applying it to the Title Matte on your second layer. If that doesn’t work you can try using the Pixel Chooser parameter in Half Tone to apply only to the alpha channel.

    Hi Robert-
This is definitely something we’re still working on. We don’t have any workarounds to offer at this point but we’ll keep searching.

    Happy New Year!

    Hi Jaeson-
Unfortunately RED can only view the track that it is applied. If you want you can import the other media as standalone tracks in RED so that you can see what you’re working with, just be sure to remove them before applying the effect.

    Hi David-
With your set of host applications you might look at either the Box Set or a copy of BCC for FCP or Adobe. The Box Set will cover 95% of your bases (we don’t support DaVinci Resolve) where as BCC will be a more targeted approach.

    Hi Anthony-
Though they haven’t been tested, Boris FX will accept and 3rd Party After Effects API plugins that you might find. Again, we don’t test any third party plugins on site so none have been proven to work perfectly.

    Hi Anthony-
The difference between FX and RED really comes in titling. Essentially FX focuses on compositing where RED does both that as well as titling.

    Hi Anthony-
The other effects wouldn’t appear in RED, only in Adobe.

  • Hi Alina-
This is something that we’d be happy to address in Support. If you can send us a link to the project and some sample footage in the form we’ll be able to take a look at what’s going on.

    Hi Anthony-
Boris RED contains a subset of the filters from Boris Continuum as well as a number from FEC.
