If you switch the Show Graph Function to “Off” that should disappear the overlay.

    Hi Michiel-
Are you applying Beat Reactor as a stand alone filter or as part of another filter?

    Hi Dan-
As long as you’re updated to the current version of BCC (BCC AVX 8.2)you should see some blue dotted effects with MT appended to the end of the name, those are filters with the Motion Tracker enabled in them.

Is this a beauty pass or a color grade? There are different approaches to be taken depending on what you’re trying to achieve.

March 13, 2014 at 4:46 pm in reply to: Filter to improve zoom quality degradation…

    Hi JP-
I think what David is getting at is to make a new composition with a resolution of 720 and import your 1080 GoPro footage to that comp.

You’ll have to scale down your footage to get it to fit in the comp so once the footage is in zoom out on the comp and select the clip so its bounding box appears, hold the shift key and resize the footage to fit the comp.

Alternatively, you can right click on the clip and select the Scale option in the Transform menu. Reducing the size to 67% will get you close enough, 720p being 2/3 the size of a 1080p shot.

In the end you’ll have the 1080 resolution in a 720 frame giving you the room to zoom on the face without loosing quality.

I’ll shoot this to you in an email as well.

    Mike-
What’s happening is as the resolution changes in your exports the mapping the filter is referencing becomes skewed and off target, hence the position change. There’s really no way around this without downresing the footage before placing the filter.

You can change the preview quality by clicking where it says Good(Full)and changing selecting Best(Full) from the menu that drops down.

    Mike-
In the last email I sent to you on this issue I had asked about forcing the preview quality to full in Vegas to see if the positioning was accurate all the way through to render out. Was there any success with that?
