I’m up to date on drivers – but yeah, it’s a pretty new card. I have not really looked into its CUDA creds but I assume it’s at least as compliant as my last Nvidia card which gave me no problem at all.
As for RAM preview set to 0… do you mean allocate 0 RAM? That would give me no RAM preview at all. Or are you saying turn it down just for rendering? With 16 gig of RAM, during render it only sits at 50% or less the whole time.
Thanks for the feedback.

OK, so I searched on the error message and this nice young man has posted this video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgCoRcRgWVk
His suggestion is to go into Custom Settings turn off Automatic Encode Mode and render with CPU only. And yeah, it seems to be rendering fine now.
But 16 threads are only peaking at less than 25%. And I can’t say it’s speeding along. Could my hard drive be a bottle neck? I’ll have to render to one of my SSDs and see what that does.
Also, what problems could I be having with my GPU and rendering? Anyone got any experience with the new 8 core CPU? Is it faster than rendering on GPU? It’s a pretty fast GPU and CUDA compliant.

So why wouldn’t MS remove faulty updates? Or maybe a better question is, Why should I remove it? Will it interfere with other programs even though the newer “fixed” update was installed?

What temp folder, where? or what is the extension so I can search for it? Thanks.

You could do something like that with key frames in pan/crop. There are also plug-ins like VASST Ultimate S that have pre-made animated lower thirds.

[Ron Whitaker] “I just hope they don’t decide to go the Adobe route and you have to “rent” the software from here on out!”
Ron, if they do, V12 will live a long life on my PC.

I’d like to hear a response to this one too.

Angelo, John, thanks for the feedback. I am familiar with the paste event attributes but my workflow never includes filling up the timeline with events where I could simply cut and paste attributes. I place events one at a time and tweak them as I go.
John, when I use velocity envelope or otherwise slow or speed up an event, if I don’t turn off resample I get distracting ghosting and/or blended frames. I’d rather just see a clean crisp frame. So if there’s a way to turn it off by default for all frames regardless, that’s what I’d do. If I understand it correctly, it doesn’t even come into play if the event’s frame rate is the same as the render right?

The only other thing on the Luminance transition are the letters “DXT” whatever that means… it’s an old plug-in for which I know of no replacement.
So how does one turn off preview GPU?
I’m thinking it’s got to be one of the BCC effects… I suspect GLINT. I rendered the entire master video from veg files last night. It made it all the was to the final part with all the Glint effects… same file that crashes on it’s own. At least I’ve had luck rendering that veg in two parts so at least I’m not totally sunk.
