….and maybe a permanent toggle off for magnetic timeline? And proper trimming in other layers? And OMF export? And slip into or move into sync? Basic functions we all need to do fast and not workaround which I would have thought were simple features. And lock off tracks?

there is so much there that is to be applaud but simple functions like that …why not have them there?

    why omit such basic functions?

you can leave without these…or do they annoy you also?

wow I can also drag a clip “below” the Primary storyline underneath ago which magical becomes transparent and it behaves ilk a normal video track.

Not having full trim functionality in anything but primary storyline seems…well….it just seems silly to me but I’m going to have to be more disciplined in how I work I guess…will I find it restrictive? At the moment I am for sure

started out as AVCHD and the strange thing is there are about 10 of 50 shots in there…(50 in “original Media. All came off same SDHCcard.

It’s just a test I shot with a Panasonic TM900 and some of the stuff is in their 1080i format s maybe that dd did not transcode but weird nevertheless

    thanks

I can tai shots one at a time but it won’t allow me to select a group of shots and move them above the primary storyline. Inflexible. I guess the workaround would be to select them and create a new compound clip and then drag that into v2 but it seems a cumbersome workaround to me.

    Am I missing something here?

Thanks..this all takes me back to learning FCP1.2 from scratch in the UK …once you know something it’s oh so simple but until you do it seems impossible.

    I hope I remember it!
