It’s totally doable with X but test first and have the right gear. How many RED productions go down in flames because they find out the hard way it’s not simple. 🙂 You need a beefy Mac with an Open-CL graphics card with plenty of VRAM and 8+GB of RAM. You also need fast storage- standard USB and Firewire drives won’t cut it.

Yep- they’ve had a number of reports of precisely what you describe. I’d check in with Red Giant’s tech support and find out the status of your specific plugins.

Are they using any 3rd party plugins by any chance? Several vendors have or are about to release updates for 10.0.6 for this issue. Check into it…

The export to YouTube includes upload time to YouTube so wouldn’t be the best test for render speeds. In general your mileage may vary- some folks are having this experience.

Any Compound Clip can be made unique by selecting it in the Timeline and then Clip>Reference New Parent Clip. This would pretty much allow you to have the previous version’s behavior when you need it.
