You could do this already in previous versions to 10.0.6 with the Roles functionality

It works fir over a year. There are still many who read about 10.0.0 and never checked the 6 updates that brought pretty much every feature needed to deliver to broadcasters.

My experience is the same and I am ashamed to say us Brits are less receptive to change and new stuff than our brethren across the pond who embrace new stuff much more readily.

It’s new software. You have to learn new stuff and workflows. It is different. And if you have been happliy earning a living pushing Avid buttons for twenty years to the extent that a lot of it you can do with your eyes shut I absolutely understand the reluctance..the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality.

BUT bet against Apple at your peril…that was my thought anyway so I have had a rather tedious at times three months getting to grips with it. And now I am getting there and if, like me, you hate the sight of render bars you may grow to like it.

I decided to learn it and then slate it from a position of knowledge and I am still learning but when I look at an Avid of FCP 7 window layout it looks a little prehistoric to me now….I’m sure there are some things X still cannot do but those in the UK show jumped ship so early on may yet live to regret not giving it a little more time…I am pleased I stuck with it.
