Yep, just graded in 10.0.1, exported new XML for the roundtrip and upon opening it in FCP7 only 5 or 6 shots came in, the rest of the timeline, something like 30 shots nowhere to be found…

When you say “after delivering a project I did remotely on my own system” what you really mean is you did the grade and rendered at your office. Because doing “remote grading” implies doing grading in real time, while connected to your client and in that case you automatically “deposit”, if you will, the project on the client’s machine. In that case client doesn’t need to ask for the copy of the project. It’s there automatically. As fas as to give or not to give, it’s not your call. Any work product performed under employment contract belongs to your employer. If client wants the project .drp, I have no problem giving it to them. If they want to decipher my work, go ahead. What do I care? It’s like someone trying to buy some Resolve looks and then applying them, thinking they don’t need a colorist. If that’s what that particular client thinks, I don’t think this is the client I’d want to hold on to… -
And this is the bummer part. If you’re doing any kind of RAW grading- Red-Alexa, Sony, NONE of the metadata settings will be copied. Therefore, Colortrace is completely useless with RAW material. And it get’s worse. Try to copy grade, including metadata from another shot in the timeline and then hit undo. Whoops, you can’t undo metadata chang But that is nothing new. We had been discussing this pretty much from day one…

A small update on MC Color operation. I updated EU Control to V3 and both banks now work as described by the DaVinci Resolve AvidArtistColorPanel manual.

Once you create the project and import the material you can not change the frame rate. You must set the frame rate first.

You can flag selected shots and choose to show only the shots with flags in the timeline. Done.

Why do you think only Element users needs to unite? Do you think MC Color or JL Cooper users are ecstatic about the present panel mapping? It’s ALL users, that are in desperate need of custom mapping. And I’m not talking about the new factory mapping. Every user have different needs- some are high end colorists, some are DITs in need of easy dailies grading and some are doing feature and episodic work. They all require different operational focus. So, personally, I will never be happy to be at the mercy of BMD to map something out. I want my OWN custom mappings.
