  • That’s strange, because, I believe, Resolve should clean up all those cache files automatically. That’s why manual doesn’t say anything about clearing them up. Nevertheless, you can delete them.

Resolve v9 does media consolidation very well. I tested it with Red material and it works very well. Don’t know about ARRI RAW, but just try it. It’s in the manual.

  • Are you writing to FAT_32 drive? They are limited to 2TB. I had this happen to me. Mac shows, that there is free space, but Mac can’t access it. Render to another drive and see, if that help.

    I understand Bob.
You could also paste the whole node and then manually one by one remove unneeded attributes.
Anything is doable, if time is not an object. Unfortunately, on something like commercial work, time is very valuable and clients will not stand for much time waste. So, when clients used to asking to do certain things and now all of a sudden colorist starts pushing and clicking buttons, without much to show, that expensive client may start looking elsewhere to get things done faster…
How about pasting a simple attribute to a single or multiple event? Sorry, can’t do it…
How about pasting a simple node to a more than one event? Sorry, can’t do it, unless first you add all those events into a new group. But even that comes with a caveat. If all your nodes in all those events are the same, then the answer finally is yes, but if even one event’s node structure is different, then all grades in those events will get re-set.

  • Isn’t it “Shift+Ctrl+C” shortcut?

Resolve doesn’t allow pasting single attributes, like Lustre, Baselight or FilmMaster. It’s either all or nothing in the node. Also, you can’t copy and paste tracking info, like Baselight or tracking info assignment, like Lustre. Had been asking for it for a long time.
I also would like to see tracking, that is capable of deforming. Just like in FilmMaster:-) For example, you can had draw shape around the face and even, if face turns sideways, tracker automatically deforms to conform to a different shape.
But right now, I’ll settle for simple copy and paste:-)

No, they are all still there. I had to call support for that. You’ll find all legacy versions under “archived drivers”!!!! Yeah, drivers:-) Nice one…

in the last 20 years or so I couldn’t possibly count number of times Dwaine had saved my behind, when I had worked as a telecine engineer. Dwaine continues to provide an invaluable help with anything Blackmagic, be it Resolve or an ancient 8:8:8. Mark Thompson is pretty good too:-)

I still use v8.2.2 and will continue to do so for a forceable future. Working mostly in Remote grading mode doesn’t allow for any experimentation. V9 is a HUGE update and it would be silly not to expect some initial issues. I have v9 installed on a backup partition and I keep firing it up now and then, but until I’m fully satisfied, that v9 is as bullet proof as v8, I’m not going to use it in a production environment. I like where v9 is going, but there are no features, that would compel me to abandon v8 before v9 is completely shaken down.
