    Hi,

As we speak of this cyan look that is so popular these days…

Do you have some good recommendations on how to apply cyan to achieve this look other ways than just adding cyan in the shadows? You have any magical recipe?

And second, this commercial has a warm high key look, that I think sell the cyan thing although its not especially noticable if you look at it. You can feel it in a way. Quirky explanation I know.
    Any tips?

Yes they have this popular blue / orange scheme but not only in picture but also in
    setup and costumes.

If you are after exact look try to take screenshots and have wipe against it
you should be able to go pretty similar if light scheme supports it.
If you have totally different contrast in picture then it is much harder i believe.

Just experiment with it is my bet.

A great test is to try and make a neutral grade out of it.
While reverse engineering you will see many things that are not visible at first.
For example, I guess there is some green lifting applied, like a lens flare would do, the whole lower right part.
I kinda did the same tricks for “Beast” just that our tenor was purple and cream.

Wait…there is also this one where we did that effect

Lots of fake flares, some in comp, some in grading…thats basically it

    A slice of color…

    Sascha,
could you please share you reverse-engineering recipes?:)
What’s the best way to do this?

Download a video – import to Resolve – and try to get a neutral look?

Thank you guys, I will post a commercial that I graded pretty close to the example as soon as it is finished.
And Sasha, great work with those you posted!
I did also see the Coke commercial, it has also been shown on norwegian channels! 🙂
