  • I am on a PC.

I’ve never rendered a DNxHD or Cineform from After Effects before. I’ll give that a try too.

Still not sure why it would have worked the previous 14 times though, and suddenly stop on the 15th DVD. Unless that’s just the buggy nature of Encore.

  • Thank you very much for your response!

I was rendering .mp4s from After Effects. I tend to prefer that application to Premiere so I often default to it.

The strange thing is that in none of the previous 14 DVDs where I also had .mp4s rendered out of After Effects had this issue.

The files I’m burning to DVD are utilitarian in nature, so quality isn’t that much of an issue, some minor compression artifacts are somewhat okay if I can get smaller file sizes.

But I’ll give your Premiere method a try later this evening. Thanks again!

  • Ha! That was it! One composition was time stretched to 50%.

It had been so long since I was in this file, that I’ve forgotten everything I’ve done in it.

Thanks for helping out and answering this one!

  • I tried deleting the expression, and hand animating the object to strobe back and forth between 100 and 50% opacity, but the problem still persists.

  • Thanks for responding.

I’ve gone through and changed all my comps to 29.97 frame rate, and the problem still seems to persist.

  • Keyframes are only one frame apart.

The first two compositions are at 29.97

But the last two compositions are at 30.

    Maybe that’s the problem?

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for responding. I figured as much, so I uploaded the file to Filedropper.

I found a work around. There must be something specific to the individual ai file, because I opened up a new project, created text, copied the text, pasted it into the original AI file, and the spaces maintained.

    Thanks for your response!

Strangest thing. So I left for lunch, and shut down my computer and let it sit, and started it up again when I returned, just to see if that would make a difference from just restarting it. I don’t think it did.

But I opened AI as you directed here. I opened up a new file, and the space bar worked with the Text Tool. I opened up the working file that I was wor5king on previously, and the space bar wouldn’t work with the Text Tool on that file. But I then typed out the text I wanted in the new file, copied it and pasted it into the working file I was working with, and it pasted just fine with the spaces.

I don’t know what to think.

  • The .mov files were on our network, and turns out, that the network was blocking their importation.

Adobe tech support had me move the files to my desktop, and they imported just fine.

Not sure why the network is blocking them yet.
