You can check some Aja Kona cards as I think that they are able to do real time keying. Kona LH is under $2000 so if you really have more then several hundreds of shots to key it could be worth to check it.

One more vote on Huge 4210 + Atto! Great combo! No installation problems, no usage problems, as stable as possible. The only problem in price.

    Problems appear mostly in editing.
Like yesterday evening when one big rendering killed the whole Mac for three times in a row and when we put it to be renedered bit by bit all was fine.
I never heard something like that from anyone in NTSC land, but here is the chance for all people on group to gimme other oppinions.

Nope we do not use SATA drives, but it is very good thinking.
That was the first thing I was looking at as we are using Atto UL4D and Medea RTS 5/480, but that did not help. Disks are spining and you can do what ever you want on that Mac except anything on FCP (even can not Force quit it).
Also, I heard about that problem several times from people in PAL lands, so it could be either FCP or OSX.

Issues are many. The most annoying is having the wrong “Easy setups” for all PAL setups possible. Yes, I know that we can make new ones, but then a new editor comes and loads an “Easy setup” and all is screwed again. Wrong fields, wrong pixel aspect …

After that we had problems with HDV in PAL (all sort of break downs when doing HDV).
I am afraid that Aja is also a bit responsible here but can not be sure about it.

Easy setups for PAL are all broken. They are all set to square pixels, wrong aspect ratio of screen and , so none of them is usable. Hoped that Aja guys will fix it in this version as we have lots of editors which are out of the house and each and every one of them thinks that easy setups are right to be used for setting their sequences.

We do most of stuff in SD and are sending it via SDI to Betacam SP deck, but we have no such problems.
Which drivers and QT version do you use? Also, which FCP and MacOS version? Maybe there are some problems.
Do you use easy setups for sequences and projects? If that is the case, then check you aspect ratio because (as I already mentioned) it is set to 4:3 square pixels and that is not how it should be in PAL.
