Thanks Chris. Then I will assume the early 2010 model will do fine in my 2008.

Yes I mean inside the system. I have 3 empty slots for up to 1TB each. I’ve not heard that this is not good for FCP. In fact, I’ve heard just the opposite. I don’t see the prob as long as it’s 7200rpm. One of my work facilities works this way. Their externals are CalDigit VRs. Can’t afford those for my personal system but figured an extra TB added to my system would help. You don’t agree?

Thanks. It’s interlaced. I hadn’t had the Fast Start checked off on my outputs and that’s made a big difference. I had been staying away from using YouTube because sometimes I do rough cuts to copyrighted music and was unable to show clients on the web because they’d always mute it. Not purchasing rights for music that is not permanent, ya know? I thought that Vimeo was the same way, but apparently not cuz I tested a spot and it works, so thanks for that. Until I get my website up, at least I have a place to play my work!

February 28, 2011 at 4:31 pm in reply to: Final Cut Pro freezes upon quit and has to force quit to restartOk. So now I’ve shut off the sleep schedule. What do you think about shutting down? When I bought this Mac Pro a few years ago, it had issues about staying on too long and then not responding after long periods of no use. Problem was solved when I made a shut down and start up schedule. The current problem only came up since I became more active with FCP.

February 28, 2011 at 12:43 am in reply to: Final Cut Pro freezes upon quit and has to force quit to restartThanks! I will try that. I do have it on a sleep schedule so as not to burn out my main drive. I realize now it could also be that my media lives on my externals which are rugged 500GB usb powered Lacies. I’ve had this problem occur even before my computer ever goes to sleep….it’s not necessarily an overnight thing.

ok. Converting again without HQ.
The project is on my external 2TB firewire drive which has more than 1 TB available. However, the converted clip was saved to my main drive.
Original footage is on the external.MAC: 2 x 2.8 Quad Core Intel Xeon
