FCP HD playback slow to start/stutters
I am subtitling a clip that is an HD imported QT clip. I have all the latest codecs and whenever I play NTSC video I do not have this problem. With the HD clips, whether they are from the cf card or an imported quicktime, when I play this clip it takes several seconds to start (whirligig thingy twirls for 5 – 10 secs) and often stutters thru the playback. I have unchecked the warning for dropped frames and checked my disc space. I am new to HD, so please bare with me. I am including screen shots of the pertinent settings….at least I think they are pertinent. If anyone can please tell me where I might have a wrong setting or what else I should look for? Subtitling is tedious enough without this slowing me down! This system should work fine with HD!
Thanks for your much needed help!
