Hang on After Effects community. I think I have managed to find the solution for you all. So if there are any more noob designers out there struggling with the write-on effect here is what I think you need to do.
You need to pre-compose the asset that you want to write-on. The reason why you need to do this is because if its not pre-composed when you copy the path and then paste it onto the brush position your pasting path coordinates that are in a much larger space than what you need. The brush is still moving but its probably off the canvas, out of view.
So please correct me if I am wrong experts as I am still new to this but I hope this helps people who end up with the same problem to solve.

Hey thanks for the helpful reply. I have had a go at this and it turned out fruitless for what I needed but I do think this is heading in the right route. I’m just not sure if the designer of my example of logo even used illustrator. Maybe he did it in a 3D package and then used a sketch and toon style render to create the effect of it looking like a bunch of vectors. Maybe he did it in Cinema4D. Anyway… Here is my attempt at making the circle following your instructions. I can see what you meant by it being a lot of manual labor in getting the correct paths out.
Thanks for you help,

Thank you for your reply. This is exactly what I am after. I really like the full break down of how to do it and the fact that you have included the source files as well for me to see as an example is really helpful. This answers it perfectly. Thank you ever so much for your reply.

Hey thank you. I will give that a go. That should be doable. I will be sticking to AE CS6 so should be able to do all the bending I like with the new Ray Traced 3D engine. Not sure if I will get stuck when trying to position it in full screen mode, but I will have to try. Your advice was very helpful. Thank you.

Hey,
Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, your right I should ask if its Stereo or mono. I think its likely to be Stereo. The file will be out putted as a MP4 video file for upload to the web. So no need to worry about that, but I always thought 48.000 GHz was the standard. I am not sure why they want it changed to 22.050.
Can anyone suggest where the option to change it to 128 bit audio might be in AE or what that even means?

Hey
Thanks for your helpful answer. I am still struggling to figure this out. I just tried to create a new doc at 1920 and I also cropped a screen shot of the file that I want to work with from the web. Both show up as 1920 x 1080 but the lower one appears to be wider. I have attached an image that shows this below. I over laid to screen shots on top of each other so that I could show the image size for each document. Can anyone tell me whats going on here? -
I have just tried using this weld tool, couldn’t figure out how to use it, but thanks for posting. The anchor point just seems to do nothing.

How do you add the colour shader to the alpha channel?
How do I change the layer shader in each channel. Is this by using a display tag?

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean in your response. I have included screen shots to help illustrate my problem:
First I made the particle emiter in a new project –
Then I merged it into the previous document and it appears like this in the object manager –
When I look at the center of the world on my scene all I can see are the XYZ axis and nothing exports out when I render it.
Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks for your help with both my recent recent posts.
