Ok, thanks that is helpful. I have exported it out without audio from aftereffects and plan to add the audio in after it exports.

One thing I have done is removed the Ray Traced 3D settings on all the comps. The project is 1:30 in length and I have about a 100 compositions where I was using Ray Traced 3D because I created lots of 3D blocks. Anyway, I have managed to get it down from a 700 hour render to a 10 hour render by doing this so it should be alright now.

Is that going to be quicker than doing the dynamic link?

    Hey Thanks!

Working backwards seems like a good idea. I will take that into account.

I have just got into the sure target set up and I am finding that really useful. I especially like sure target 2 as that gives a lot more control and targets than the first version.

Thanks for your help. I will give both these a go.

Problem solved. It needed to be in a composition that had a background image for the silhouette alpha to pick information up from. If it had a transparent back ground there was no information which is why it showed up as transparent.

    Thanks for this helpful reply.

I have noticed where I went wrong. The illustrator project was in millimetres and not pixels.

    School boy error.

    Hey Vishesh

    Thanks!

I forgot to mention anything about illustrator before now, but yeah that makes perfect sense!

My comp for the illustrator files is 5443 x 3062

and my output resolution is 1920 x 1080.

    So thats explains it.

Thanks for helping me get to the bottom of this.

    Hey

Thank you ever so much for the informative responses here.

I was still having some trouble but I think this is because the file I was trying to apply write-on to was an imported illustrator file. I’m not sure why.

I have since found that by pre-comping the illustrator file and then applying the effect to the pre-comp works every time.

Maybe there is no need to do this but it has been the only solution that is working.

Thanks ever so much for your help guys!

    Regards,
    Jack

    Hey thanks.

I have checked it and I seem to have the same resolution on the comp throughout. I am not sure how this applies.

Its still following a path off the canvas and it should be over my the line I drew with the pen tool.

    What am I doing wrong?
