Like all of you: Big fan. Love M100. Frustrated by BorisFX disappearing act.
Appreciate all the comments and it was interesting to read your tech take Bernhard. The quicktime situation makes it tricky for development I’m sure. I’m a couple of versions back and I’ve been at a “I need to upgrade soon” point for awhile due to Lion/Mt. Lion.
Reading the comments an idea popped into my head for Boris – although I am no means a software developer. The part about M100 that everyone has always loved was the interface. The codec compatibility issues and a lot of the tech capabilities, well, not so much… which is understandable as M100 is much smaller player than Apple/Avid/Adobe.
Since BorisFx is mainly a plugin company – why not turn M100 into a plugin which provides the M100 interface within the other bigger players editing software. That way you could take advantage of many of the technical advantages of the other companies but maintain the interface we all know and love.
Maybe, not technically possible. But, just an idea!

It is good to hear that they are continuing to develop Media 100. I really hope so. However lacking their PR, word of mouth, and advertising efforts are – I really think that Boris FX has improved the quality and technological aspects of the program a lot since they bought the company.
Thank you everyone for the other posts… I think it is good to show Boris that we are interested in future products and that the “base” is willing to continue to update and get the word out about Media 100. My impatience and worry comes from my real fear that the product will be discontinued – and it is a product that I really like and have always liked. I would rather be impatient about what the next upgrade will include rather than whether it will exist!
I, for one, really appreciated the frequent posts from Wick when he was still at the company and updates to the webpage. It does take time and company resources, I realize, but it really helped to keep me connected with M100.

Must have either been the card which had wiggled out of the slot or a reversed cable.

Am I correct in that if the Kona is working and hooked up correctly there should be a green light on in the front of the breakout box?

One thing I just noticed is that we’re using Leopard. And the XDCam transfer software is 2.11 — is that just for snow leopard? And should we be using xd cam transfer 2.51? Would that cause any gamma shifts? Just want to make sure my ducks are in a row before I move on to monitoring issues.

Thanks Floh, I think I got it figured out with some more experimenting. It was a field dominance issue from my export it looks like. If I keep running into it I’ll upload some examples. Thanks!

I was having a similar problem about a month or so ago. Never really figured out a work around though it seemed to help somewhat if I had multiple layers if I rendered them all separately instead of having a whole “tier” of them render at the same time. Also had an issue with once the Time FX rendered that sometimes the clip started at a different place and then would stutter. And sometimes they would just go black (and I would do a quick “undo”).
If I remember correctly was using SD footage within the M100i codec.
