I just moved the studio. I have everything hooked up again but now it seems that my Kona Le isn’t working. In the control panel it reads “No Video” everywhere. And the device control does not seem to be functioning either.

If I remember correctly there was always a green light on the front of the Aja box. That light doesn’t seem to be turning on… maybe that’s a start with the problem.

    Any ideas?

If you just moved, two quick things to try.

1 – Open the Mac, remove and then re-seat the Kona board. Could have shifted during the move.

2 – Remove the cabling from the computer and the K-Box and then reconnect. Just to ensure you have everything seated correctly.

These are the first two steps I take when something like this happens.

Am I correct in that if the Kona is working and hooked up correctly there should be a green light on in the front of the breakout box?

Yes, our boxes all have blue LEDs on them when the computers are on.

open up the AJA Control Panel. Does it show that a card is plugged into your computer. Look in “About This Mac – More Info” under PCI cards. Does it see the card ?

Are you using a Breakout Box ? Use the octopus cable that came with your Kona card (still have it ?) instead of the breakout box. Does it work now ?

Many people flip the breakout cable to the breakout box upside down.
Also, many people reverse the SDI in with the SDI out in hooking up the unit.

It’s working again! Thanks, both of you, for the advice
Must have either been the card which had wiggled out of the slot or a reversed cable.
    Appreciate the help.
