Im not sure if I have codec packs installed, I know i have xvid, but for AVC there is not an option for MP4 renders unless you use Mainconcept but the mainconcept is showing many pixels
-
I noticed I do not have Sony AVC MP4 setting in Vegas 12, In the list if I choose to edit the Mp4 ones are all standard definition, and there is m2ts options bluray options are AVC, there is no other option for hd mp4s than the Main concept AVC/AAC which is the one I am using currently
With this option im making it a two pass with variable bit rate at 14,0000 there shouldnt be any reason why there are pixels, i cant seem to figure out why there is
-
Also I assume now the bitrate is way to high for my computer to handle, I can view other hd videos and they play smooth but now since this render is so large yet the pixels are still there it seems like it lags as if the bitrate is way to large or something
-
I have done this, the results are better but still there are obvious pixels that drop and come back I can see, I set it to two pass with 14,000 bitrate which should be way more than enough

Hmm how strange, I opened up vegas and just let it sit there for about 15 minutes to see if giving it time would help and it seemed to work! still very slow though because when I minimize it and go back it takes a good 30 seconds in order to be able to click on the project.
Does anyone know if I should swap my mp4 and mpg files to the original mts files?
Do you think it will load better and be more workable with those back in there?
Oh and one final question, If i were to do this im assuming that its going to force me to individually select each and every MTS file since the extension isnt mp4… That would take HOURS as I have probably over a thousand clips which would be tottally ridiculous to find A THOUSAND CLIPS!!!!
Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks for the help guys!
I will do this, only thing is though, my handycam only can shoot in 60 frames per second lol so i guess ill have to just get rid of half the frames no big deal
-
Well, at first im pretty sure it was H.264 codec as I went AVCHD to mp4, and then I decided to change the avchd to mpg files, probably divx? But eaither way this worked find on my older computer, now for some reason its giving me a hard time 🙁

Say the original one time only rendered mp4 was 200 Megs
and I re-rendered it to purposly be bigger like 250 Megs
Since the bitrate was set higher would it keep the quality in tact and would it be worth it?
Or should I just try and match the bitrate so the re-rendered one will be 200 megs just like it was before?

I have found out more about this problem, it seems to be indeed not my problem at all!
I took a look at some other MP4 files that I did not put through vegas and to my surprise they have the same issue as well!
So from what I can tell from this is that for some strange unexplained reason MP4 files have this problem, I cannot believe that nobody has brought this up before!?
On another note I played my episodes I was having that problem with in another player, this time I streamed it through a 360 through Vuze and I watched it and it was fine! even paused, and fast forwarded and rewinded it and the sound was in sync!
I guess Windows Media Player and VLC are to blame?
Or is MP4 to blame?
The way I see it is if 2 players can at least play my MP4 CORRECTLY and how they are ment to be viewed and VLC and Media CANT when you pause them or go ahead or back then its clear to me that my files are 100 percent fine!
I guess media player and VLC just have to get better
Just to add on some more, I tried with Live action films as well that were in MP4 format
For example I tried out Home Alone (1991)
And Eraser Head (1977)
All examples have the same result!
